Rosa Parks Museum 2023 Juneteenth Celebration

The Sickle Cell Foundation of Greater Montgomery, Inc. will be participating in the Rosa Parks Museum's Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 17, 2023 in downtown Montgomery, Alabama on the 200 block of Montgomery Street. This event will feature live music, a tour of the museum, local food and merchandise, informational vendors, arts and crafts, and an authentic 1950s Montgomery city bus. Sickle Cell Support Group Meeting

The Sickle Cell Foundation of Greater Montgomery, Inc. is hosting a Sickle Cell Group Support meeting on Monday, March 6, 2023, starting at 5:00 P.M. Ms. Nancy Anderson, Associate Director of the Alabama Disabilities Advocacy Program, will be delivering information pertaining to 504 Plans and Individualized Education Plans (IEP).

Dr. Charles R. Drew Annual Blood Drive

Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Omegia Iota Iota Chapter, is hosting their annual Dr. Charles R. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Bash and Family and Fun Day

Sickle Cell Awareness Walk

Date: September 17, 2022

Divas 4 Divas and All Hands Together will sponsor a Sickle Cell Awareness Walk for the Sickle Cell Foundation of Greater Montgomery, Inc. River Region, on September 17, 2022 from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Gateway Park located at 3800 Davenport Drive, Montgomery, AL 36105. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness about Sickle Cell Disease. This event is free to the public, and there will be live music, games, and a door prize. Ms. Monica R. Sickle Cell Blood Drive

The Sickle Cell Foundation of Greater Montgomery, Inc. is partnering with LifeSouth Community Blood Center to host a Sickle Cell blood drive on Thursday, September 15, 2022, from 9:00 A.M.- 5:00 P.M., at LifeSouth Donor Center located at 4139 Carmichael Road, Montgomery, AL 36106.

Beyond the Bridge Community Festival

2022 Campaign Kickoff Tailgate

Vaxx to School

The Wellness Coalition is hosting their Vaxx to School event on Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 9:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. at Bell Resurrected Baptist Church located at 4800 Birmingham Highway, Montgomery, AL 36108. There will be a COVID-19 testing and vaccination clinic as well as a school supply giveaway and refreshments. Community Wellness Resource Fair

The Sickle Cell Foundation of Greater Montgomery, Inc. will be attending a Community Wellness Resource Fair on October 12, 2019 hosted by the Office of Family and Community Engagement (FACE) for Montgomery Public Schools.

This health fair will be one of many parent engagement activities throughout the school district during the month of October as part of Parent Visitation Month in Alabama. The goal for this event is to provide a venue that will offer a variety of health related resources and services that will inspire healthier lifestyles. Generation S: You Are Not Alone Meeting

2019 Transition Camp

The Sickle Cell Foundation of Greater Montgomery, Inc. will be attending Mercy Baptist Church's 2019 Summer Health Fair on Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 9:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. The goals of the event are to: 

- Increase awareness of prevalent health issues in the community / state by providing: Educational information which addresses signs and symptoms, early recognition, and detection of prevalent health issues.

- Identify community resources (ADPH, fitness centers, rehabs, durable medical supplies, support groups, community programs offered by hospital, clinics etc.) 

- Increase participant’s knowledge of careers in health care to address the need for diversity in the health care setting.

Deputy Dave Family and Friends' Day

Sickle Cell Easter "EGG"stravaganza

Date: March 20, 2016

Time: 2:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M.

Our sickle cell families are invited to Gateway Park on Sunday, March 20th for our Sickle Cell Easter “EGG”stravaganza! We will be having an Easter egg hunt for our youth clients; however, all clients are welcome to come out and participate in an afternoon of fun, food, and games.

We will also have a station set-up where clients can sign up for our Get Connected Registry. This is a patient-powered registry created by the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America (SCDAA) to provide individuals with sickle cell disease a network to store information related to diagnosis and treatment and access to available resources, self-care tips, and news about sickle cell disease.
