2019 Summer Health Fair

The Sickle Cell Foundation of Greater Montgomery, Inc. will be attending Mercy Baptist Church's 2019 Summer Health Fair on Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 9:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. The goals of the event are to:
- Increase awareness of prevalent health issues in the community / state by providing: Educational information which addresses signs and symptoms, early recognition, and detection of prevalent health issues.
- Identify community resources (ADPH, fitness centers, rehabs, durable medical supplies, support groups, community programs offered by hospital, clinics etc.)
- Increase participant’s knowledge of careers in health care to address the need for diversity in the health care setting.

Fourth Men and Women Expo, God's Church

The Sickle Cell Foundation of Greater Montgomery, Inc. will be participating in the 4th Annual Men and Women Expo at God's Church. The purpose of this expo is to provide an environment with teaching and activities that cater to health and wellness. Ms. Monique Hopkins will be present to perform Sickle Cell testing and education.

Children's Harbor Transition Camp 2019

Children's Harbor is hosting a camp for 15- to 19-year-olds with a chronic illness who are transitioning from pediatric to adult physician care. For more information, contact Ms. Janice Crow at (205) 638-6608.
Sickle Cell Blood Drive, Community Congregational Church
Date: September 15, 2019
Time: 10:30 A.M. - 1:00 P.M.
This event is open to the community. There will be prizes, Sickle Cell souvenirs, and pizza. T-shirts will be given away to donors.
For those looking to donate blood at this event, please do not donate after July 15, 2019.

"Generation S: You Are Not Alone" Meeting

It's time to end the silence surrounding Sickle Cell Disease. Come out and connect with others living with this disease and explore the Generation S initiative. The guest speaker for the evening will be Dr. Felicia Wilson, Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist and Professor of Pediatrics at University of South Alabama.

Get Fit Selma! 2019

The Sickle Cell Foundation of Greater Montgomery, Inc. will be participating in Get Fit Selma! on September 28, 2019. This event will provide information and resources to empower the citizens of Dallas County and surrounding areas to live healthier, better-informed, and safer lives. The goal of this event is to foster greater education in health and disease prevention by providing health screenings, educational information, and related activities.
